The human population has risen tremendously in the past couple of decades and, as a result, carbon emissions have also risen. However, part of the solution may be found in sustainable electric cars. Tesla was able to accomplish this in 2003 when they started with a group of engineers. They strived to create cars that would not need to rely on fossil fuels and could help lead the way for a zero-emission future. The Tesla Model 3 is one such car that could help reduce carbon emissions. Here’s all you need to know about the Tesla Model 3.

Safety

All cars are created with the convenience and safety of the driver in mind and the Tesla Model 3 is no exception. This electric car is reinforced with a fusion of aluminum and steel, to ensure rhe exterior's impact resistance. When the Model 3 performed the crash test, it was able to receive a score of 5 stars in all categories from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Despite an all glass roof, this car is able to resist up to four times its mass.

Performance

The Tesla Model 3 has excellent acceleration and performance. Because of the dual-motor system in the car, the car is optimized for any kind of situation. With one motor in rear and one in the front, combined with the battery located under the floor, the car has a low center of gravity which allows for smooth turning. The carbon fiber spoiler in the back also ensures that the car maintains its stability — even at fast speeds. All of this allows the car to accelerate up to 60 mph in about 3.5 secs

Dual Motor

The Model 3 has a dual motor, meaning there is one motor in the front and another in the rear. This allows the car to be more efficient in power and stability. The two motor system ensures that if one breaks down, the other will still be working, which allows the driver to reach their destination and not get stranded on the highway where the driver could potentially be at risk.

Interior

The interior of the car is very simplistic with one main touchpad in the center of the dashboard. It has the standard features of Bluetooth, Navigation, and USB. Unfortunately, it doesn't include AM radio or SiriusXM satellite radio. The front seats are extremely comfortable and spacious, allowing the driver to relax on the road. The rear seats are foldable, making sure the trunk space can be maximized. The Model 3 can hold up to 15 carry-on suitcases if the rear seats are folded. The glass roof is tinted with infrared and ultraviolet ray protection, ensuring a clear view of the sky when cruising on the road.

Autopilot

Like the Model S, the Model 3 is also equipped with autopilot features. There are cameras on the rear, side and front of car, covering 360°. There are a total of 12 sensors to detect nearby cars or objects to prevent collisions. There are many features including summon, autopark, and lane change. Summon allows the car to automatically drive and stop in front of the driver. Parallel and perpendicular parking are the hardest part of driving, but with the autopilot feature, this can be done with a click of a button. Changing lanes on the highway, or on a regular street, is also a button click away.

Cost

The Tesla Model 3 is definitely a steal! Even with all these features, the price is almost half of the Tesla Model S. The Standard Range Plus version starts at $30,815. However, if customers do want more features, it would cost a little extra. The Dual-Motor All Wheel Drive version, which includes a premium interior, starts at $39,815 for long range and $46,815 for performance. All these models feature 18” Aero wheels.

With pollution building up in recent years, many have switched to renewable energy in recent years, helping to lessen the burden on our planet. Electric cars are definitely part of the solution. the Tesla Model 3 is one of those cars that could help lead people to a more sustainable future.
