In response to COVID-19, YSG Solar commends the NYS DPS and NYSERDA for their actions. Below is an outline NYSERDA shared in relation to distributed energy resources—the order confirming and modifying the suspension of interconnection deadlines.

“On July 2, the New York Public Service Commission acted on the Community Credit reallocation process established in the Order Regarding Community Credit and Community Adder Allocations and on the suspension of the 75% payment deadline in the Standardized Interconnection Requirements (SIR).

  • Per Community Credit and Community Adder Allocations – as contemplated in the Emergency Interconnection Order, the Community Credit reallocation process established in the Order Regarding Community Credit and Community Adder Allocations, issued on March 19, 2020, in Case 15-E-0751, is modified such that the process will not end in each utility territory until the end of the second consecutive month after November 1, 2021, in which there have been no cancellations of projects in Tranches 1, 2, 3, or 4, or Community Credit Tranches 1 or 2, in that utility territory.

  • Per the 75% payment deadline for the SIR – the Emergency Interconnection Order was adopted on a permanent basis with modifications. Specifically, the suspension of the 75% payment deadline in the SIR is modified to end on August 6, 2020, with all payments that would have been due during the suspension due by September 8, 2020, the first business day following the thirty-first calendar day after August 6, 2020. This modification is appropriate as nonessential construction activities were able to resume, subject to appropriately stringent health and safety guidelines, in all areas of the State by June 8, 2020. The Electric Utilities are directed to continue to conduct interconnection activities through virtual technology or self-verification when doing so is possible, would not compromise the safety or reliability of the electric system, and complies with relevant requirements related to the Disaster Emergency.”
